2. Kendall Reusing’s Biography

Kendall Reusing is a BJJ Black Belt under her father, Tom Reusing. Tom is also an accomplished BJJ Black Belt. Kendall Reusing is one of the top competitors of her generation. Before earning fame in BJJ, Kendall was a freestyle wrestler. As a colored belt, she was one of the dominant grapplers in the super heavyweight division. Kendall won the IBJJF World No-Gi Championship in the absolute weight division and became a World Champion.

2.1. Kendall Reusing’s Early Life

Kendall Reusing was born on 29 October 1997 in Dana Point, Orange County, California. She grew up around the area in Southern California.

Kendall Reusing At Gymnastics Judo & Other Sports

She was actively involved in sports from a young age. She learned gymnastics, Judo, and Wrestling as a child. She was also involved in singing and acting from early teenage.

Started BJJ

Kendall started BJJ when she was 5 years old. Before that, she was actively involved in wrestling and judo.

Inspired By Tom Reusing

Kendall’s father, Tom Reusing, who is also a BJJ Black Belt, had a great influence on her. She was inspired by her father. Before Kendall’s birth, her parents moved to California from the southeastern state of Georgia to study BJJ. Her father instilled the love of BJJ in Kendall.

Practiced BJJ with Coach Ricardo Guimaraes & Tom Reusing

When Kendall turned 7, she was practicing BJJ with coach Ricardo Guimaraes and her father, Tom Reusing. She was also into Judo at that time.

Kendall Reusing At Wrestling

When she was 13 years old, she left BJJ to focus on wrestling. For 6 years she practiced wrestling.

California State Championship

She spent 6 years practicing wrestling and won a California State Championship.

US National Championships

During high school, Kendall Reusing won four US National Championships in wrestling.

Trained At US Olympic Training Center

She trained at the US Olympic Training Center and started wrestling with Team USA on an international scale.

Represented Simon Fraser University

Kendall Reusing and competed at the World Teams and many international tournaments. She represented Simon Fraser University in British Columbia from 2015 to 2016 (1 year).

Resumed BJJ

In 2016, Kendall returned to California and resumed BJJ training. She quickly conquered some of the top BJJ events in the colored belt division.

IBJJF World Champion

She earned the title of IBJJF World Champion in 2017 while being a Purple Belt.

UAEJJF Grand Slam LA

Kendall Reusing won 2nd place at the UAEJJF Grand Slam, LA in 2018 as a Brown Belt.

4 Times World No-Gi Championship

She is 4 times IBJJF World No-Gi Champion

IBJJF Pans Championship

Kendall earned 2nd place in IBJJF Pans Champion in 2018 as a Brown Belt.

In 2019, Kendall was promoted to Black Belt under her father, Tom Reusing. Her numerous wins acted as a stimulant for her Black Belt promotion.

ADCC Champion

She became the ADCC Champion in the WC USA Trials in 2022.

Kendall won the 1st position in the USSGL, San Diego Midway Open in 2017 in the adult female class.

In 2015, Kendall won 1st position in the Mike Clock Open tournament.

She competed 2 times in the Body Bar Women’s National in 2015 and won 1st and 3rd position.

Kendall Reusing Vs. Giovanna Jara

The fight between Kendall Reusing and Giovanna Jara was the most epic fight. Kendall submitted Giovanna via the Guillotine Choke only 1 second before the end time. Giovanna, the South American Trials winner, had a tough fight with Kendall but could not tolerate the Guillotine attack of Kendall. Giovanna was a little rough with the forearm across Kendall’s face during the match.
