Khamzat Chimaev Promoted To BJJ Brown Belt After Winning UFC 294

Khamzat Chimaev, a professional MMA fighter in the welterweight division of UFC has just announced his biggest victory at UFC 294 and his promotion to Jiu-Jitsu brown belt. He won against Kamaru Usman after showcasing exceptional fighting skills in the octagon. Khamzat’s fight with the Usman occurred by chance. Previously Khamzat had to face the top middleweight fighter, Paulo Costa. But due to injury, Costa had to withdraw from the match. Then Costa was replaced by the welterweight world champion, Kamaru Usman for the fight.


During the entire fight, Khamzat showcased his excellent grappling skills and took down the Usman multiple times. Khamzat controlled his opponent from the top position and was identified as the winner of the first match phase. Usman tried hard to resist but Khamzat secured the winning title based on a unanimous decision. Khamzat also secured the pair of 29-28 scores in the fight. So ultimately Khamzat earned his BJJ brown belt. Khmzat’s main coach, Alan ‘Finfou’ Nascimento shared his views on how Khamzat performed exceptionally against various veteran Jiu-Jitsu black belts. Alan also praised him by saying that Khamzat deserved more recognition and fame. Now, Khamzat has secured his place against the top successful UFC middleweight fighter Sean Stricklan.


The UFC ( Ultimate Fighting Championship) shared the video of  Khamzat Chimaev winning the BJJ brown belt and wrapping the belt around his body’s waist in a post to their official Instagram account:
