He is determined to possess ascendancy in terms of skill set. 25-year-old ace challenges One Welterweight Submission World Champion Tye Ruotolo. The iconic tournament will be held at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.


A highly skilled Australian BJJ Grappler Izaak Michell became a part of jiu-jitsu at the age of 16. Michell was fond of skateboarding and represented the capabilities in Australian rules football. Michell has been a traveling nomad, fetching the best instructors around the globe. He ranks up victories in the submission grappling competitions including IBJJF Gi World Champion Jansen Gomes and IBJJF No-Gi World Champion Roberto Jimenez .


The Adelaide-born fighter shares his views on the Epoch-making event:

"I believe that I am the best 185 guy. I haven't had the same level of success in the competitions that Tye has, you know, I've been doing jiu-jitsu for a less amount of time and I'm kind of just coming up now."

The tournament will be broadcast live on Friday, April 5 U.S. primetime.

Izaak Michell is staunch and has a firm belief that he has the potential to conquer the difficult fight in his career. Moreover, he is aware of the fact that he has to face the most competent grappler. He cannot lose concentration to defend himself against the attacks of Ruotolo.


Michell expresses his views with warm admiration that Ruotolo has a great sense of aggressive offensive style and has taken this competition as a unique opportunity.


He disclosed that Ruotolo has the ability that:

“Basically, he throws the kitchen sink at you, and if you’re not prepared to deal with that, then a lot of people get caught, and then it’s just too much. It’s an overwhelming amount of offense coming at them at once.”

Michell further states that: 

“Tye is ranked number one in the world at 185, so he’s as good as they come. I’ve been watching a lot of Tye’s matches and studying him. I’m very impressed with him as a BJJ grappler,”

BJJ fans are excited to see if Tye Routolo can Defend his Welterweight Submission Grappling World Champion Title. Tye Ruotolo is also excited about a heated title defense. On the other side, his twin brother Kade Ruotolo will fight with Francisco Lo in the Catchweight division.
