Biography
David Hulsey is a native Texan, born March the 13th in 1986. David has been active in community work at a young age and involved in youth groups and community outreach teams around the southern states. He started in gymnastics at age 4 and powerlifting at age 13. Starting grappling at age 16 and formal training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at one of Corvo’s affiliate schools in a neighboring town in 2014. He is ranked at purple belt in Brazilian Jiu jitsu and a active competitor. Now training under Diogo “Moreno” Araujo and Bruno “Tank” Mendes with Soulfighters Texas.

Question: Who inspires you, past or present? Why do they inspire you?
Answer:: Bruno Mendez, Because he’s shown me how to a better martial artist on and off the mats.
Question: What do you think it takes to be a champion in your sports?
Answer:: Passion and true dedication to the arts.
Question: What inspires you about BJJ? MMA?
Answer:: The passion and love the athletes have to keep growing.
Question: Is the martial arts necessary for a common person
Answer:: Yes, because it develope you as a real person, and make you consistant one.
Question: How long have you been training?
Answer:: 3 years
Question: How often do you train?
Answer:: 5-6 days a week.
Question: Any major accomplishments you’ve been able to achieve in that time?

Question: What are your goals for this year? Next 3 years? Next 5 years?
Answer:: To own and operate a community center in my home town to help the families in the area through BJJ, and martial arts.

Question: What sort of gear do you usually keep in your gym bag before hitting the gym? Do you have different items for specific days?
Answer:: Shorts, Mouth piece, Cup and Tape. The time to get to work!
