Biography

His journey started back in 2009. He drove by Travis Lutter’s gym in Fort Worth. He was a big UFC fan and thought it would be fun to try out. He never knew then what kind of impact it would have on his life. He was hooked after his first day and started training every day and sometimes twice a day. He couldn’t get enough. After 1 year he was awarded with his blue belt! He would stay there 1 more year or so until he moved to Genesis BJJ in River Oaks. He moved because he felt he needs a change in environment. Genesis at the time was ran by Albert Hughes and Tony Tipton. Former coaches at Lutters.

He really liked their style and take on BJJ. He was awarded with his purple belt after a few years. In 2014 he began to teach and fell in love with that. Watching everyone’s technique progress over the months was awesome too see! Especially when it was tournament time and they would bring back some medals! Or if they pulled off the sweep or submission they had been working on. In 2016 he decided it was time to open his own academy. He was very nervous at first and did tons of research and paperwork. After signing on the dotted line Goliath Jiu Jitsu was born! they started in an 800 sq ft warehouse.

He loved it even though it had lime green walls and no AC. They eventually made changes and had the gym looking really nice. Once his one-year lease was up they moved to a 1200 sq ft warehouse where they're currently located. July 15th, He was awarded with his brown belt! It was so awesome for him, since he is not part of another gym it’s taken a bit longer to get but it was worth the wait. He has big plans in the future for himself and his gym. Taking it day by day for now and currently working on becoming a certified personal trainer.
