Biography

Born in November of 2006 in El Dorado Springs, MO. The oldest of 2 girls. Taylin started Karate at the age of 6 at the same Dojo she trains at today. First under Sensei Chance Cyr and then/now Sensei Riaan Van Dyk.

Question: Who inspires you the most, past or present? Why do they inspire you?

Answer: The Beast MMA guys I condition and train with. Darci York and Miesha Tate, to me they are great examples of sport karate and MMA and I love to watch them.

Question: What inspires you about Judo?

Answer: The Respect and family aspect competitors have for one another. We are friends outside the ring and competitors inside the ring.

Question: What are your goals for this year? Next 3 years? Next 5 years?

Answer: By the end of this year I hope to earn my blue belt and win a Grand Champion Trophy. In the next 3 years I hope to earn my brown belt. In 5 years I hope to have earned my black belt and eventually get to go to the Olympics and be a world Champ.

Question: What do you think it takes to be a champion in your sports?

Answer: Dedication, Respect for yourself and others, Heart and determination, and a great support group/team/coaches.

Question: What does it mean for you to be a fighter??

Answer: It teaches me alot like how to control my nerves.

Question: How often do you train?

Answer: 3 days a weeks at karate class with my team and Sensei, 2 days a week with the Beast MMA guys and my Dad, and tournaments every couple Saturdays.

Question: How long have you been training?

Answer: Since age 6

Question: Do you have a go-to finishing move?

Answer: I like to switch it up and keep them guessing.

Question: Any major accomplishments you’ve been able to achieve in that time?

Answer: Numerous 1st and 2nd place Trophies, Several National Titles, and Top Girl in SWAT in my division in 2016.

Question: What sort of gear do you usually keep in your gym bag before hitting the gym? Do you have different items for specific days?

Answer: I always have My Elite Gear Bag with me full of my Elite training gear and pads, a water bottle, my mouth guard, pony tails, and band-aids.
