Biography

I am 28 years olds and from Lafayette, Louisiana . I am married with 3 children. My whole family trains jiujitsu on a regular basis. My husband and I run a swimming pools business. We found our gym Gladiators Academy of Lafayette when my son was being bullied at school. After 6 months of my husband and son started training my husband wanted me to learn self defense. I was very hesitant at first. It has been 4 years since I first stepped on the mats and now I couldn't imagine my life without jiujitsu.

Question: What inspires you about BJJ?

Answer: Jiujitsu helps keep my anxiety and stress under control. It also has made me a more confident person. It has also taught me many valuable lessons and humbled me . I learned that there is always a way out of a situation even in life . You just have to be patient and find it.

Question: Any major accomplishments you’ve been able to achieve in that time?

Question: What are your goals for this year? Next 3 years? Next 5 years?

Answer: My goal for this year 2017 would be to compete in another submission only tournament. Within the next 3 years my goal is to have my purple belt and compete in Worlds. Within the next 5 years my goal is to have my black belt!

Question: How long have you been training?

Answer: I startes training the end of 2013

Question: How often do you train?

Answer: I train at least 3 days a week but if I'm getting ready for a tournament I usually train 7 days a week.

Question: Who inspires you, past or present? Why do they inspire you?

Answer: I have quite a few people who inspire me. My husband and children inspire every day to be the best person I can be on and off the mats. They encourage me and push me to reach my goals. My professors and team mates inspire me to be a better jiujitsu practitioner and help me in growing our women's jiujitsu community in our area! My parents and in laws for always supporting my family and I on our jiujitsu journey.

Question: How much importance has the sports gear in any competition?

Answer: Prevent from Injuries and help you to relax

Answer: Arm bar from gaurd

Question: How you take success in your life?

Answer: It help me to motivate and keep you focus towards the end goals, so more success i got more energy it gives me to achieve new goals of my life

Question: What do you think it takes to be a champion in your sports?

Answer: Good technique and sportsmanship of course and also hard work and dedication

Question: What sort of gear do you usually keep in your gym bag before hitting the gym? Do you have different items for specific days?

Answer: Gi, Belt, Rashguard, Mouth Guard, Deodorant, fragrance spray and peppermint/lavender oil
