The great Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighter Leandro Lo, who was shot in August 2022 over a petty issue, is going to be inducted into the IBJJF Hall of Fame. Leandro Lo who is a 1st-degree BJJ Black Belt under Cicero Costha, was a multiple times World Champion.
Leandro Lo is an eight times IBJJF World Champion and six times IBJJF Pans Champion. He topped the IBJJF charters the day he earned his Black Belt. On 6th August 2022, Leandro Lo was shot in the head in Sao Paulo, Brazil. An ex-military officer named Henrique Velozo shot Lo and fled from the scene, but later he was arrested by the police.
Not a year has passed but Leandro Lo’s place is still vacant as not a single fighter can take his place. The same year, 2022. Lo had won another IBJJF World Championship. If he hadn’t gone so early, he would definitely still be a World Champion.
