BJJ champion Ffion Davies got her first strip on her black belt and was promoted to first-degree black belt at the age of 28. She received her first strip at Essential Jiu-Jitsu, from legendary coach JT Torres on May 25, 2023. Ffion Davies received her first-degree strip one and a half years late. She was promoted to Black Belt on November 27th, 2018. The normal time duration for first-degree promotion is considered 3 years. According to this calculation, her first-degree black belt promotion should be in the last of 2021.
Ffion Davies shared this news with her fans through her Instagram post in which she thanked the coach, JT Torres for giving her the chance to teach Jiu-Jitsu at Essential Jiu-Jitsu. She also thanked him and other members of the academy for welcoming her to the academy wholeheartedly.
At the end of the post, she also revealed that her first belt promotion is 5 years late. It is also necessary to mention here that Ffion Davies joined Essentials of Jiu-Jitsu at the start of 2022. Before her journey with Essential Jiu-Jitsu and JT Torres, she represented East Coast Jiu-Jitsu. She trained there till her Black Belt.
Ffion Davies is the first British national to achieve a medal at the ADCC championship. She is also famous for having the best-ever Black Belt debut and won the NoGi World Championship immediately after her black belt promotion and became the first British to win the world championship. One of the biggest achievements of her career is the ADCC World Championship 2022.
She is three times world champion in her black belt career and two times world champion in her colored belt career. Ffion Davies is one of the most active athletes who is struggling hard to make her way to the peak of her BJJ career. Her struggles with Jiu-Jitsu depict that she will do wonders in her grappling future.
