2.1. Uanderson Ferreira’s Early Life
Uanderson Ferreira was born on 10 January 2001 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was raised in Morro do São João, a slum region of Rio. He had a great interest in sports from his childhood. Ferreira first started practicing soccer and capoeira. When he was 8 years old, his parents decided to keep him away from negative activities shared on the favela streets. So they admitted him to a Jiu-jitsu school to start his athlete’s journey.
2.2. First BJJ Instructor
Uanderson Ferreira was first trained under the supervision of Marcio Carreira, a renowned BJJ instructor. Carreira played a major role in developing major fighting skills in Ferreira. He competed at various BJJ competitions and secured the winning titles as a brown belt. Then he moved to Abu Dhabi where he joined the Commando Group team where he worked with Igor Silva, Bruno Barreto, and Thiago Barreto.
2.3. Uanderson Ferreira’s Achievements
Ferreira got prominence in the BJJ after becoming the black belt. He competed in various top International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments and secured victory. In March 2022, Ferreira stunned the audience with his exceptional performance at the King Of Mats 85KG Grand Prix. Due to his phenomenal grappling skills, he earned a gold medal by defeating various top BJJ fighters.
2.4. Promoted To Black Belt
On 4 February 2023, Uanderson Ferreira earned his black belt under Marcio Ferreira. After getting the black belt, he said:
“I felt very happy and nervous because I know I need to work even harder to be the champion.”
2.5. Motivation and Life Goals
Uanderson Ferreira is a true example of dedication in Jiu-Jitsu. He spent his entire life just focusing on Jiu-Jitsu. Ferreira only believes in hard work. Ferreira is already a BJJ star but dreams of becoming a top-notch Jiu-Jitsu World Champion. Once he was sharing his life experience he said:
“I saw some friends from Morro do São João going the wrong way, we often live on the edge of good and evil there. But I always had jiu-jitsu in my life, I started when I was 8 years old, and I stayed focused on my purpose of becoming a professional fighter and changing my life. I never thought about giving up, and today I'm reaping the rewards. That's why I hope to serve as an inspiration for kids who are going through darkness today. I want them to understand that it's just a phase, keep doing raffles, crowdfunding, taking money from here and there to fight. You have your whole life ahead of you and if you believe, you can change your level too”.
“We never know what tomorrow will bring, I want to make the most of my career and also prepare for the future. I still have many goals as an athlete, becoming a World Pro world champion is one of them, but my big plans for 2024 are to start college, probably in physical education, and take my parents out of the community. I want to buy them a house in a better neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro, far from violence”, envisions the young man.
