The Clash of Champions: Tye Ruotolo Vs. Reinier de Ridder - A David & Goliath Situation

Tye Ruotolo and Reinier de Rider are all set to compete at ONE Fight Night 10. Reinier de Ridder, the Dutch Knight, is the former ONE Light Heavyweight World Champion. He recently lost his ONE Light Heavyweight Championship to Anatoly Malykhin.

Reinier de Ridder is a seasoned veteran who has been competing at the highest levels of grappling for over a decade. The Dutch fighter is the reigning ONE Championship Middleweight World Champion and boasts an impressive record of 14 wins and 1 loss.

Tye Ruotolo is a rising star in the BJJ world, known for his incredible athleticism, creative submission game, and relentless attacking style. The 20-year-old Black Belt, under Andre Galvao, is a Who’s Number One (WNO) Champion.

The clash between Ruotolo and de Ridder is scheduled on 5th May 2023.

“It is going to be the most anticipated match after Ridder’s first lost fight and Tye’s recent submission win.”

Ruotolo is known for his dynamic guard and leg attacks, while de Ridder is a formidable wrestler with a dangerous top game.

“It’s going to be a crazy match. A little bit of a David and Goliath situation. So I’m excited to take him down and show the true essence of what jiu-jitsu is all about – going for the kill no matter the size of your opponent.”

Tye is fully aware of the Dutch Knight’s size and that is why the American called it a David and Goliath situation. The Dutch Knight fights in the light heavyweight category on ONE Championship, whereas Tye is skilled in the lightweight category. Hands down, this match is going to be the most fascinating match of the year. But this situation isn’t going to make Tye slow, rather he is all the way ready to bring down Ridder.
