Mikey Musumeci vs. Kade Ruotolo Added to ONE 168

Mikey Musumeci will square off Kade Ruotolo for the lightweight submission grappling world title. The super fight is locked for the ONE 168: Denver. Two of the great submission contenders will perform on the podium of ONE 168 on Sep 6, 2024 Friday.

ONE Championship has just announced the massive fight, as Mikey Musumeci moves up to challenge Kade Ruotolo for the lightweight title at ONE 168. Musumeci will be taking on an enormous challenge to compete in more than one weight class division. He is putting his efforts into becoming the promotion’s first person to win submission grappling belts in several weight classes.

Mikey Musumeci the ONE flyweight grappling world champion, will reach up to the three weight divisions to challenge Kade Ruotolo for the lightweight title. Musumeci is a four-time world champion and a five-time IBJJF world champion, winning ONE flyweight submission grappling world title in 2022. Musumeci has successfully defended his gold three times. He has chosen to forego competing in the featherweight and bantamweight divisions. Musumeci took the most difficult challenge to face one of the toughest tests in his career so far. He continues to excel and improve day by day.

27-year-old grappling star Musumeci has built a perfect pace of six successive wins with four sensational tap-out victories. Musumeci had squared off against the most popular grapplers including Masakazu Imanari, Jarred Brooks, Shinya Aoki , and Osamah Almarwai.

The Atos representative Kade Ruotolo is the renowned youngest ADCC world champion, he has amassed a record of 6-0 in the long run. He has successfully defended his belt three times. Ruotolo competed against the top game BJJ grapplers Tommy Langaker, Matheus Gabriel, and Uali Kurzhev. He recently encountered Francisco Lo at ONE Fight Night 21.

Before encountering Musumeci in ONE 168 Denver, Ruotolo will make his much-anticipated debut in MMA in June, where he will face off against the competent grappler Blake Cooper.

With many common traits, these two unbeatable contenders are prepared to set a milestone in the submission grappling. At ONE Championship 168: Denver, Mikey Musumeci, and Kade Ruotolo will slug out for 10 minutes.
