Islam Makhachev’s Twitter Victory Lap Slamming Israel Adesanya Over Hooker vs Makhachev Bet

Islam Makhachev’s Twitter Victory Lap Slamming Israel Adesanya Over Hooker vs Makhachev Bet

Islam Makhachev, coached by none other than Khabib Nurmagomedov and his father, Abdulmanap, had a decisive win over Dan the Hangman Hooker in the first round with a Kimura. After which, the sambo master made quick to go online and slam Israel Adesanya for saying he’d bet his money on Hooker.

Adesanya, who had posted a video earlier on his YouTube channel expressing his opinions and predictions about the fight made it clear that he was going to support his team captain, Dan Hooker because no one knows the kind of ‘psychopath’ Dan is when it comes to training. While offering support to a teammate and presenting an opinion wasn’t what got Islam’s attention, the UFC Middleweight Champion went as far as to say that he’d bet his money on Dan winning the fight.

According to Adesanya, Dan had the fight “in the bag”. Whereas, Islam made quick work of the Hangman ending things in as little as 2 minutes and 25 seconds, submitting Hooker with a deadly Kimura in the first round. After the fight, Islam posted on his Twitter account, asking Adesanya how much money he lost by betting on Hooker.

Islam Makhachev made his professional UFC debut in 2015, and with just one loss against Adriano Martins back in 2015, Makhachev hasn’t lost a fight since and continues to ask Dana White for bigger fights with stronger and more mainstream fighters like Brock Lesnar or the reigning champions. The Dagastani sambo master wants a fight with Charles Oliveira, saying in his Octagon interview that his division is asleep and that he’s going to wake them up because things are apparently changing.

Islam made us of his quick victory over Dan and said, “The old guys from the top five, they've already fought for the title: (Michael) Chandler, (Justin) Gaethje. That's why we have to change something.”
