Biography

Steven Parsons is a successful Mixed Martial Artist fighting out of United Front gym in Richmond, Virginia. He is a purple belt under professor Carlos David Oliveira and represents Evolution Fight Team. Before making his professional debut in 2017, Parsons compiled an amateur MMA record of 5-1, capturing three WKA North American championships in the process. Now as a member of Team Elite, he looks forward to showcasing his skills while representing the brand on and off the mat.

Question: Who inspires you, past or present? Why do they inspire you?

Answer: There’s a quote that really hits home that says, ‘Your future self is watching you right now through your memories’, so for me the idea of becoming the best version of myself I can possibly be inspires me.

Question: What are the essential things for the training?

Answer: Able to relax while training, breath control which allows you to correct your moves well.

Question: What are your goals for this year? Next 3 years? Next 5 years?

Answer: To be as successful as possible and establish a susbstantial income by doing so.

Question: How long have you been training?

Answer: 8 ½ years.

Question: What inspires you about BJJ? MMA?

Answer: The idea that it all is an aspect of self reflection. When it comes time to perform or compete, whether it be in self defense or competiton, you are only as good as the work you've put in; you get to see people's true colors and find out what they're made of.

Question: How often do you train?

Answer: Everyday.

Question: What will you suggest to the newcomers?

Answer: Keep hard working because in the end it pays off

Question: Any major accomplishments you’ve been able to achieve in that time?

Answer: 3X WKA North American titles in MMA.

Question: Do you have a go-to finishing move?

Answer: Whatever is there for the taking.

Question: What do you think it takes to be a champion in your sports?

Answer: Persistent hardwork and dedication. There must be no doubts.

Question: What sort of gear do you usually keep in your gym bag before hitting the gym? Do you have different items for specific days?

Answer: Clothes to train in and/or change into. My gear mostly stays at the gym in my locker so I don't have to tote it all around… though with my new elite sports gym bag I won't have to worry about that any more (:
