Biography

Luis Robles has been training for a year and a half and is currently 23 years old. He has been training under world-famous Marcelo Mafra, at his academy Checkmat Mafra in Hesperia California. Training twice a day under someone like Marcelo has really allowed Luis to learn and appreciate the art of jiu-jitsu. Luis is inspired by the art and the discipline of jiu-jitsu and everything that it means to him. In addition to this, Luis is also inspired by the Miyao brothers & Leandro Lo in particular.

Over the course of the next few years, Luis plans on learning as much as possible, winning world titles, and becoming one of the best fighters in the world all at the same time. Luis particularly likes the spider guard and the berimbolo. Just like anything else, Luis believes that hard work pays off and nothing comes to you for free. In fact, Luis also believes that in order to become a champion, one must sacrifice a lot as you work hard towards becoming a champion while leaving it all on the mat.
