Rigan and his brother together called The Machado brothers, Rigan and his brother, have trained celebrities to  certain degrees. Rigan Machado is a coral belt, who is renowned for creating a BJJ routine, the Flow Jiu-Jitsu, for celebrities. In this BJJ routine, celebrities did not have to go undergo tough sparring sessions or compete in competitions. But they still acquired necessary fighting skills for self defense. The BJJ fans were quite shocked. Some even questioned the authenticity of Kutcher’s achievement. After all,   earning a purple belt in such a short time period was not a common occurrence. Kutcher’s coach Rigan clarified all doubts by stating that Kutcher had a solid background in martial arts and wrestling. His background along with his determination, promoted him to purple belt in such a short time.

After Kutcher’s achievement, Joe Rogan, a celebrity BJJ black belt himself, praised Ashton Kutcher’s jiu-jitsu skills in the following words;

To which he replied;

“I put all my money (on) Ashton Kutcher. I think he could do really, really good. He’s 200 pounds,6-2, 6-3, he’s the best.”

The following video shows Rigan Machado awarding Kutcher a brown belt.

Recently,  a rolling session video of Craig Jones with the American Actor Ashton Kutcher went viral, but it  faced massive backlash from the BJJ community due to  doubting about Kutcher’s brown belt level. Craig Jones in one of his interviews explained what really happened and how the rolling session went:

“I went to Rigan’s gym and he says to me, like come in you can train with Ashton. Ashton who had just had a serious medical condition, I don’t know if it was a stroke but half his body stopped working so he couldn’t move too well so then there’s Rigan who is like: “roll with him, I’ll film it and he films. So we posted online and got like a thousand comments like “look at thus fake F*cker. This guy’s a loser. I hate this guy like a thousand comments and then Ashton comments on like “thanks for the roll”, I was just like obviously it’s tough to be feeling too sympathetic to the celebrities and stuff but you see things like that you’re like it’s rough no wonder they hide in a hole.”
(Craig Jones)
