His name is Trey Gonzales. He is 8 years old. His twin brother is his training partner. They are locally known as “The Gonzales Twins”. They have both been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in both Gi and No-Gi since they were 4 years old. He competes in several tournaments a year throughout Texas and often compete in multiple weight divisions. He has had the privilege of training under Prof. Justin Barker of Strong Arm MMA (Presa BJJ) for all 4 years. He loves BJJ and his gym family. He hopes to continue to train and compete while traveling the country.

Question: Who inspires you, past or present? Why do they inspire you?
Answer: My professor Justin Barker and coach Orin Nova inspire me. They have been coaching me since I was 4 years old. I like how they know cool moves and teach them to us.
Question: What inspires you about BJJ? MMA?
Answer: BJJ and MMA teaches me to defend myself against bullies. They keep me in shape and plus I get to learn cool moves
Question: How long have you been training?
Answer: Almost 4 years
Question: How often do you train?
Answer: 4-5 times a week
Question: What are your goals for this year? Next 3 years? Next 5 years?
Answer: My goal this year is to win my Super Fight, get promoted to yellow belt, and to compete in more tournaments. In the next 3 to 5 years, I would like to become a Worlds Champion, travel the world to compete, and to continue to train and get promoted at my gym.
Question: Is the martial arts necessary for a common person?
Answer: Its a good techinque to defend yourself against bullies, day by day you learn new moves.
Question: Any major accomplishments you’ve been able to achieve in that time?
Answer: I’m proud of getting my grey belt two years ago.

Answer: A good attitude.
