Biography:

Born October 6,1987in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. I wasn't a stranger to combat sports. Growing up watching the great Puerto Rican boxers like Wilfredo Benitez, Hector “Macho" Camacho, Feliz Trinidad, and Miguel Cotto, I was interested in combat sports at an early age. At age 6, I started Karate. At 16, I started fighting Kickboxing. At 17, in college I joined the Judo team. I’m a Navy Veteran and it was while station in San Diego, that's when I started MMA (Boxing, Wrestling, Muay Thai, and Jiujitsu). I currently live in San Antonio, Texas where I teach MMA, Kickboxing and Jiu-jitsu.

Question:: What will you suggest to the newcomers?

Answer: To take training seriously and be consistent as possible. Empires aren't built in a day so work hard, but be patient. Pay attention to your next training session and not stripes or belts!

Question: What does it mean to be a fighter?

Answer: I always say that I’m a martial artist first and fighter second. I use fighting as a vessel to test my skills and spirit. I strive to become a better person and fighting makes me endure hardships that will build my character so I can succeed in all aspects of life.

Question What are essential things for training?

Answer: Mindset is number one. You need to have a perfect mindset to become a great fighter. You need good gear like Elite sports! That helps!

Question: What seperate you form every other fighter in your division?

Answer: I’m a different kind of fighter. I would say unique. I have no attachments to winning or losing so I always give it my all with no concern to that. By doing that, I fight freely without worries. I just always want to do my best! Style wise I use whatever weapons I need from whatever art I find.

Question: What is the meaninhg of success in your mind?

Answer: While a lot of fighters are only concern with winning, I define success in how hard you work. If you do your best and train hard, there’s no regrets. As I’m coaching, I find success in how effective I empower my students.

Question: With whom you would like to fight?

Answer: If we were on the same weight class, I would love to fight GSP. He's a fighter I've always look up to and I think that he is the definition of a martial artist first and fighter second.

Question: Is there any difference b/w your common days diet and during compe trining diet?

Answer: I eat healthy year-round. So no, my weight cuts are not bad. I emphasize a healthy lifestyle. The only difference is that I don't have cheat days!

Question: Is martial art necessary for a common person?

Answer: In today's world is necessary to know how to defend yourself. You never know where you have to defend yourself and your family. In the philosophical sense, it helps to have the discipline for the everyday life! At work, you have the discipline to prioritize and always complete tasks. When I went to college, I used martial discipline to keep myself in check and study hard. I considered test fights and study like I was training.

Question: How does a beginner will prepare for the competition? Any advice for beginners?

Answer: To always listen to your coaches and trust your training. Always strive to do your best.

Question: Which moment is memorable for you in your past competitions?

Answer: When I got my black belt in Kyokushin Karate and Brown belt in Jiu-jitsu.

Question: How is it helpful to have the information about your competitor?

Answer: It's helpful as long as you always train for you and worry about you. There are bad habits that you can exploit, but you always have to be ready to adapt.

Question: How Martial arts helps to build leaders?

Answer: Discipline, Martial artist is generally healthier and more confident than the average. People tend to gravitate to those kinds of people. That’s why as a martial artist it is important to always strive to be a good example.

Question: How much importance has the sports gear in any competition?

Answer: I've gotten preventable injuries from wearing not quality gear. You need to have a complete set of gear that is quality. That’s why I chose Elite sports.
