I’m a Brazilian jiu jitsu brown belt. I have competed in MMA and in many jiu jitsu tournaments. I also hold a second-degree black belt in Tae Kwon do. I teach my own classes in spring hill Florida and train out of new port Richey jiu jitsu academy. I love jiu jitsu and want to spread the family aspect to all and have created my own you tube page, to help spread my knowledge and love of the sport. I have made martial arts my life starting in TKD when I was 12 years old. It is my belief that training makes you a better person and puts the best people around you.

Q&A Session Between Brad May and Elite Sports

Question: Who inspires you, past or present? Why do they inspire you?

Answer: I love Rickson Gracie and George St. Pierre I feel like they always bring there best and a complete fighter, but more importantly are respectful great human beings who want others to strive to be the best they can be. And always use different things to make themselves better. Like gsp using gymnastics and Rickson using yoga and amazing breathing techniques

Question: What inspires you about BJJ? MMA?

Answer: I love to compete and try my skills against others to see who is better on a given day. But I love the comradery that this sport brings.

Question: Any major accomplishments you’ve been able to achieve in that time?

Answer: I have won state titles in TKD and Copa states titles in jiu jitsu and many other wins and have won my super fight at the Leleo code

Question: What do you think it takes to be a champion in your sports?

Answer: I feel like constant training and a belief in yourself and training with the best steel sharpens steel.

Question: What are your goals for this year? Next 3 years? Next 5 years?

Answer: My next step is to get my black belt compete more and keep training others and maybe down the road a school of my own

Question: How long have you been training?

Answer: I have been training for over 17 years all together

Question: How often do you train?

Answer: I do Jiu Jitsu 3 to 4 times a week and I lift and do cardio 5-6 days a week

Question: What will you suggest to the newcomers?

Answer: Focus on training and spent more time to master the new moves.

Question: Do you have a go-to finishing move?

Answer: I’m able to get a guillotine on almost anyone at any given time in a match

Question: what sorts of gear do you usually keep in your gym bag before hitting the gym? Do you have different items for specific days?

Answer: I always keep a gallon of water with me and a BJJ-Gi in my trunk you never know when you’ll need it.
