Hannah Marie Strong
Before Jiu Jitsu, I worked out a lot - lifting weights and competing as power lifter. After living in Colorado for about a year, I decided to try something new to keep me in shape and found Jiu Jitsu. I never thought I would love the sport as much as I do. I can't imagine life without Jiu Jitsu now; it allows me to push myself not only physically but mentally as well.

Question: What inspires you about BJJ? MMA?
Answer: The everchanging nature of the sport, the game is constantly evolving which makes it a never-ending sporting endeavor
Question: Who inspires you, past or present? Why do they inspire you?
Answer: My mom inspires me, she is the strongest person I know. I find daily inspiration from my team, they are constantly pushing me as I am pushing them to be better people and grapplers.
Question: What are your goals for this year? Next 3 years? Next 5 years?
Answer: In the next year, I plan on competing at as many opens as possible, in the next 3 years my goal is to receive my purple belt, in the next 5 years my goal is to win gold at Pans and Worlds and steadily working toward my brown belt
Question: How long have you been training?
Answer: 2 years
Question: How often do you train?
Answer: 4-5 days a week, I also teach/coach kids classes 3-4 days a week
Question: Any major accomplishments you’ve been able to achieve in that time?
Answer: I medaled as a white belt
Question: Do you have a go-to finishing move?
Answer: I'm always hunting for arm bars, my favorite being from S Mount or a strait jacket arm bar from closed guard
Question: What do you think it takes to be a champion in your sports?
Answer: Perseverance, dedication, discipline, humility
Question: What sort of gear do you usually keep in your gym bag before hitting the gym? Do you have different items for specific days?
